The Cavaliers had an awful night as they only hit 33.3% of their shots from the floor and that’s why they couldn’t close out the Nets last night. LeBron James was only 5 of 14 from the floor and he wound up with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had a good game with 16 points and 6 rebounds, but for some reason Coach Mike Brown didn’t play the big guy much in the 2nd half and that was down right stupid as no one on the Nets can stop Z inside. Sasha Pavlovic was a little off last night with 8 points and 3 rebounds. Larry Hughes had a horrible shooting night but he wasn’t shy as he was 3 for 17 from the floor last night. He finished up with 7 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Drew Gooden also had a bad night (2 for 7) with 4 points and 8 rebounds. Daniel Gibson injected the team with energy in his 17 minutes on the court as he scored 8 points. The Cavs are still up 3-2 in this series as it shifts to New Jersey starting tomorrow night.

The Cavaliers played excellent defense as they held the Nets to 36% from the floor last night and that was a huge reason for their win. In fact, the big three of the Nets, Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson shot a combined 11 for 48 from the floor. LeBron James led the way for the Cavs with 30 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Larry Hughes was also busy with 19 points, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Zydrunas Ilgauskas (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Drew Gooden (8 points, 10 rebounds) both played tough in the paint. Sasha Pavlovic played a good defensive game but he only wound up with 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. The Cavs are now up 3-1 in this series.

The Cavaliers just didn’t want this basketball game as bad as the Nets did and it showed on the court. Amazingly, the Nets outrebounded the Cavs 43-30 and that should never happen! Larry Hughes led the way for the Cavs with 23 points and 4 rebounds. LeBron James was busy with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Drew Gooden (12 points, 4 rebounds) and Zydrunas Ilgauskas (11 points, 8 rebounds) were both a little soft on Saturday and that hurt the Cavs. Sasha Pavlovic had a rough night with 8 points in 32 minutes. The Cavs are still up 2-1 in this series.

The Cavs were only up 74-73 heading into the 4th quarter last night. But, the Cavs woke up and thumped the Nets 28-19 in the 4th quarter to pull away from the Nets last night. The Cavs really hurt the Nets on the boards last night as they outrebounded the Nets 49-32 and that was a huge factor in this basketball game. LeBron James was unstoppable last night as he scored 36 points, dished out 12 assists and stole the ball 3 times. Sasha Pavlovic was outstanding again last night with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Zydrunas Ilgauskas (13 points, 9 rebounds) and Drew Gooden (10 points, 14 rebounds) both dominated the paint for the Cavaliers last night. Larry Hughes was also very busy with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. The Cavs are now up 2-0 as the series heads to New Jersey.

The Cavs hit the boards and played defense and that’s why they won this game. The Cavs outrebounded the Nets 51-37 and they held the Nets to 37.2% shooting from the floor. LeBron James led the way for the Cavs with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists despite only shooting 8 of 21 from the floor. Larry Hughes also had a rough shooting game (7 for 20) but he still finished with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Sasha Pavlovic had a good game with 15 points and 3 blocks (one of which altered the game when he stuffed Jason Kidd from behind on a fast break). Drew Gooden was tough in the paint with 14 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Zydrunas Ilgauskas only shot 4 of 12 from the floor but he still wound up with 8 points and 14 rebounds. The Cavs need more from the bench as the whole crew only scored 6 points. The Cavs are up 1-0 in the series with the Nets.
