Cavs come out flat and lose 111-99 to Wizards

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 21 November 2006 at 11:23 am

The Cavs came out flat and they couldn’t stop Gilbert Arenas who dropped 45 points on them Saturday Night.

LeBron James led the Cavs with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists…..but he played kinda lazy tonight. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had one of his better nights this season with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Anderson Varejao scored 12 points and had 4 rebounds off the bench. Sasha Pavlovic (12 points) and Damon Jones (10 points & 5 assists) each played o.k. off the bench.

The Cavs were overdue for a flat game and they fell to 7-3 on the season.

Cavs big second half nets them a victory over the T-Wolves

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 18 November 2006 at 1:35 am

The Cavs had a huge second half as they out-scored the T-Wolves 50-31! The Cavs held the Wolves to 38.4% shooting from the floor. The Cavs also out-rebounded the Wolves 45-34, and the Cavs haven’t been out-rebounded the whole season so far.

LeBron James led the was with a fantastic game. James scored 37 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had a decent game with 14 points & 8 rebounds. Damon Jones (11 points) and Anderson Varejao (5 points & 8 rebounds) were both productive off the bench.

The Cavs improved to 7-2 on the season, which is the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Varejao giving the Cavs good minutes

Blogged under Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 16 November 2006 at 10:52 pm

Anderson Varejao is giving the Cavs huge minutes off of the bench. He is only playing 20 minutes per game, yet he’s scoring 5.9 points and grabbing 4.9 rebounds. Anderson is making 61.5% of his FGs, but most of his shots are in the paint. He brings hustle and energy to the floor and it rubs off on all of the Cavs.

Cavs cruise to 100-87 win over the Blazers

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 15 November 2006 at 10:16 pm

The Cavs shot well tonight hitting 48.6% of their shots from the floor. The only negative in this game was that they lost Larry Hughes with an ankle injury after he played 14 minutes. He stayed on the bench during the rest of the game, so the injury probably isn’t serious.

LeBron James was awesome, as usual, with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Drew Gooden rebounded after having a couple poor games in a row with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Eric Snow hit all six of his shots from the floor and finished the game with 13 points & 4 assists. Donyell Marshall (8 points, 8 rebounds) and Zydrunas Ilgauskas (7 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks) played well on defense and were very active on offense.

The Cavs improved to 6-2 on the season, which is the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Cavs beat Knicks on the road 102-96

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 14 November 2006 at 10:13 am

Damon Jones came off of the bench firing three’s, and he made 7 of 10 3-pointers and scored 29 points. LeBron James also had a great game with 29 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Larry Hughes played great defense and scored 14 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, dished out 4 assists and stole the ball 3 times. Donyell Marshall also had a solid game off the bench with 10 points & 6 rebounds.

The Cavs did what you’re supposed to do to bad teams….beat them anywhere you play them. The Cavs record improves to 5-2, which is the best record in the Eastern Conference.
